Amber Marshall, the popular star of long-running made-in-Alberta CBC family drama Heartland, married her long-time sweetheart on Saturday, in a ceremony fitting for the western roots of the series.

Marshall married photographer Shawn Turner in a ceremony that included a groom in a cowboy hat, a flower girl and ring bearer on the backs of miniature horses, and the bride herself riding sidesaddle on her black horse Hawk, according to a post on Marshall’s Facebook page.“The ceremony was short and to the point, and very special.

Her family owns a horse ranch called Heartland, where they have a long tradition of healing horses.
